about

This is where it all began... Fuchsia, Gormenghast, mythology.

Fuchsia was sometimes described by the critics as Baroque, in its approach to multi layering of parts/song construction. Always something new to find.

I recently read that with Baroque architecture there's always room to add more!

I think 'Gone with the Mouse' was a song about the collapse of civilisations! Where was my head going?

All of the string parts got together by first working out guitar chord sequence, then working out violin part say, and recording this. Then working cello part against chord sequence and existing violin part and so on. I wasn't trained to write/score music. String players, Maddie, Vanessa and Janet came in and learnt the parts and we played the song, and wow... it worked! Fuchsia was born.
